Long lines for short thrills
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! I had a geat idea the other day when I was watching the news! Well here it is ... I thought about going down to the local "Best Buy" and buying about 50 computers and cell phones and putting them on the stage at church and put signs around town advertising an electronics give-a-way! Sound good! (right) Of course not ... I would never do that. I just wanted to get you to think about a few things. 1). What makes people stand out in the cold early in the morning to go spend money. 2) Why don't they get upset and complain about being there? Could it be that they feel that by getting there early and even if they have to wait, the reward out-weighs the wait? Could it be our selfish nature to want to get fulfilled and satisfied? Could it be they have reason to believe that if they don't get there, someone else will get their spot? I'm not saying that it's wrong to stand out there ... but I wonder how many of those same people were standing in line waiting to get into church on Sunday morning. What God offers is so much more valuable than these "temporary" frills. Again, I'm not "hatin" ... just wondering. Your thoughts ...
